I’m Marnix Midas Buijs (yeah I’ve got a fancy middle name), and I’m a freelance health and fitness writer. With my love of writing, health & fitness and reading, I write informative and engaging content for companies like yours!

But, why me?

The biggest question of all is: “Why should we choose you?” I’ll make it easy for you and sum it up in three words: Precise. Knowledgeable. Independent. I’m not a pain to work with, and that shouldn’t be the case either. If you’re hiring me, you want to lessen the workload for yourself (or from other employees), and I’ll do that for you.

It’s like having your personal idealist walking around your company improving everything without even noticing that I was there.

Below this point, you will get to know me more as a person

I believe that a man can only be judged about his actions, so below I’ll describe to you what I do on a weekly basis.

First of all, I have a very structured morning and evening routine to get me in the right state of mind. This involves meditation, working out, reading a book, reading online articles (via Feedly), gratitude, reflection, and planning. And yes, I love to do those things.

When I’ve finally broken down my projects of the day in small tasks, I can start working. I work as a focused madman on Adderall (the only drug I use is caffeine, don’t worry) on my work until I can’t focus anymore and I’ll have a big break.

After that, I try it again and again which usually end up being smaller and smaller periods of focus. I tried Pomodoro and any variation of that kind, but I’m an all or nothing kinda guy (which usually ends up being ‘all’). When I’m not working as a freelancer, I’m working as a blogger or doing other entrepreneurial stuff (like Merch by Amazon).

What do I do besides work?

If I can’t annoy family members or friends by being ‘funny,’ I play video games, watch YouTube videos, read a book, expand my knowledge about work-related stuff, work out, contemplate about my life goals, go to the cinema or sleep.

Currently, my biggest goal is to move to Bali for six months and start living my life as a digital nomad traveling around the world.
